Dolly Parton Receives $100 Million Courage And Civility Award From Jeff Bezos

November 18, 2022

Dolly Parton is the latest recipient of the Courage and Civility Award - an annual award distributed by Jeff Bezos.

Every recipient receives $100 million to direct to the charities that they see fit.

"When people are in a position to help, you should help," Parton said.

"I try to put my money where my heart is. I will do my best to do good things with this money" she said.

Last month, Dolly Parton was one of six honorees to receive the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy for her contributions that make the world a better place.

"Jeff and I are so proud to share that we have a new Bezos Courage and Civility Award winner — a woman who gives with her heart and leads with love and compassion in every aspect of her work," Bezos' partner, Lauren Sanchez, posted on Instagram.
