When the Cambridge & District Humane Society introduced him online, they didn’t just post another adoption ad. They introduced a legend:

With his impressive size, sweet personality, and the kind of laid-back charm usually reserved for royalty, Baconator quickly captured hearts worldwide. He was so big, in fact, that the shelter had to house him in a dog kennel, since he didn’t quite fit in a regular cat kennel.

"In fact, he's so big that he couldn't comfortably fit in a regular cat kennel... so he's currently living in one of our dog kennels while he works on shedding a few pounds.
Don't worry-he's more cuddles than crunches."

The shelter shared that Baconator was on a vet-approved weight loss plan that involved portion control, enrichment, and occasional exercise — though, as they joked, "when he feels like it".
