So Today Was A Doozy
By Gillian • August 28, 2023
So today was a doozy. I collected my dog from the kennels in Yarrambat.
I drove out along Yan Yean Road and realised that the car behind me was flashing their lights at me. Thought that maybe I was too slow for them and pulled over.
They pulled over too. What now?
A lovely man approached and said that my wallet had fallen off the roof of my car at the last bend in the road. ( Yes I had placed my wallet on the roof as I was placing my dog in the car….and yes, had forgotten to retrieve…I know…)
I drove back to the spot and was approached by a lovely lady who asked if I had lost anything. I said yes, my wallet, and she proffered the same to me, adding that the contents were dispersed over the previous 500 metres and offered to collect them for me.
I wanted to kiss her but refrained. I paced up and down the side of this busy arterial road and slowly collected my cards, including credit and debit cards, driver’s licence, and so on.
What can I say, but that all that is good in people was given to me today….kindness and honesty. I thank you both from the bottom of my heart.
