Pilot Lands A Plane Sideways At Bristol Airport
October 16, 2018
On October 12, a pilot for TUI Airways executed a sideways landing at Bristol Airport in the UK during Storm Callum.
The tower lists the winds at 180 degrees at 26 knots gusting to 40 knots, so for a runway configuration like Bristol, that's a direct cross. This pilot had to land the Boeing 767 sideways on a wet runway.
