Judy Neel, 85, and her husband, 75, were caught off guard by a recent snowstorm that left their driveway and sidewalk blanketed in ice and snow. The unusual weather in Tallahassee created hazardous conditions, making it difficult for them to safely leave their home.
But their neighbor, Brandon, stepped in to help. Rising early in the morning, Brandon grabbed his snow shovel and got to work, clearing their driveway and sidewalk. He went the extra mile, laying down sand to ensure they could walk safely.
A Historic Snowstorm
The snowstorm that swept across the Gulf Coast this week is shattering records that had stood for more than a century. Stretching from Texas to the Carolinas, the storm delivered an unprecedented blanket of snow to areas unaccustomed to winter weather. Cities like New Orleans, Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida, set all-time snowfall records, while Louisiana and Florida came close to breaking their state snowfall records.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Tom Kines described the event as "a once-in-a-lifetime event" for many in the region.
