"My boyfriend saving a cat from flood waters near Bonita Beach," Megan Cruz Scavo captioned the video on Twitter.
"I'm sorry, Megan, but he is everyone's boyfriend now. I don't make the rules," one user replied.
Hurricane Ian was downgraded to a tropical storm Thursday morning as Central Florida experienced massive amounts of rain. The hurricane – one of the most powerful storms ever recorded in the U.S. – made landfall as a Category 4 storm Wednesday afternoon near Cayo Costa, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 mph.
"Our house unfortunately might be destroyed but we are safe," Megan wrote in an update.
As for the cat, the couple decided to keep him.
"He made it through (almost lost him to storm surge) and we are keeping him and naming him Ian," she said.
