Florida Man Uses Broom And Blanket To Rescue Alligator Trapped In Plastic
January 24, 2018
A man in Bokeelia, Florida, spotted a distressed 6-foot alligator in his backyard and decided to take matters into his own hands.
The gator was stuck in plastic and struggling to survive.
"I'll never have the chance again, so I'm not gonna let the thing die," Michael Stauffer told NBC 2 News. "With all the cuts and everything, I think it probably would've died."
In the video, you can see Stauffer using a broom and blanket to secure the gator, and safely wrestle it, rescuing it off the street.
With help from a friend, Stauffer went to work removing the plastic.
"I've never done that before with an alligator before ever," he said.
Stauffer then called the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation to grab the gator from his truck.
