The Impact Was Far Greater Than I Suspect You Realize

I was having dinner with a couple of girlfriends this evening at a Vietnamese restaurant. Food, as always, was delicious. And my two besties, as always, were great company.

You were another patron, from a different group sitting nearby.

As I stood up to leave, you came over and complimented me on my outfit and style.

Today hasn't been a great day for me for a variety of reasons. There were tears.

This compliment, from a random person who herself was far more stylish and fashionable than I could ever be (awesome haircut, colorful and striking shirt), was unexpected, genuine and generous. It was such a lovely thing to do. And given the day I'd had today, the impact was far greater than I suspect you realize.
