"My boyfriend helped our elderly neighbour when she got locked out of her home. She didn't want to come inside for a cup of tea so he stood outside in the rain with her until they found a solution."

The note reads:

"Hope your arm didn't get too bruised.

Thank you so much for helping an old damsel in distress. Landlord is getting locksmith in today. A small gift of appreciation. I hope you are both going to be happy in your nice new home."
