They Found This Dog Thrown From A Moving Car, And Gave Him The Happy Life He Deserves

March 17, 2015

This was the first time I was able to get close to Hank. He had been sleeping under a bush in my front yard for days.

Little by little we started to gain his trust and he would come up to my porch for food. He looked severely underweight and had a mild form of mange. His skin was also very red which I later learned was a yeast infection. His paws were swollen and bloody from chasing after the truck that threw him out, on a gravel road.

Once we gained his trust we led him to a vacant barn on our property. The shelter had already told us that they were full (so I knew what that meant) and I began to call rescues around the area. Each rescue I spoke with was either full or didn't answer.

A good Samaritan reached out to me offering help from a rescue that she volunteered for. I gladly accepted. This was the last night that he slept in the barn, we were off to the vet the next day.

We came back from the vet with an entire bag full of medication, Pills, sprays, creams, you name it and it was there. I'd guess that the vet picked over 50 ticks off of him. I stopped at the store on the way home and picked him up some doggy ice cream.

Hank was feeling much better after about a week on his various medicines. He loves to run with a ball in his mouth and I'm pretty sure he thinks that he is a greyhound, he is so fast.

This was about a month and a half after his first vet visit, looking better!

He likes to take everything we give him outside, he actually prefers to be outside most of the time. He digs holes and will bury his bones like its his job.

Here he is today!

Hank is now happy and healthy! Here he is laying in his favorite spot, sunbathing on the deck. Notice the dirty nose, he has been digging!
