This Guy Spent $100 Turning A Basement Room Into A Rustic Cabin Getaway
December 1, 2014
He spent a grand total of $107 transforming an empty basement room used for storage into a rustic cabin man cave. Check this out...
He used old crate wood that a local metal company used for shipping. (FREE)
Using a draw knife he was able to make every board look hand cut.
The walls going up.
The window will look like a mountain scene when finished.
Using stones he found on the side of the road, he built a fireplace.
The center beam in the ceiling was aged and stained. This was one of the only pieces of lumber he had to purchase.
Here is the floor going in.
This is the main door into the room. It looks like a regular door on the other side.
We're getting close to finished. The exterior window is actually a photograph lit from behind. You can turn the light off to simulate night outside.
Many of the pieces of furniture and shelves and crates are handmade from aged and reclaimed wood.
The fireplace is fake but made of real stone and reclaimed barn wood. There's even real ashes in there and real burn marks on the floor.
I think he likes to hunt.
After 6 weeks... a finished man cave.

It might not be a real cabin getaway, but I can think of no better place in your home to read a book and unwind.
