'I Had Bar Fights Less Violent Than That': Guy Tries To Help The Wrong Goose Family
June 10, 2018
A family of geese trying to cross the road caused a bit of a traffic jam in Edmonton. So a kindhearted man got out of his car in an attempt to help some of the goslings who were struggling to get up the curb.
It turns out his kind gesture was not appreciated, but the Internet is getting a good laugh from it.
"I was in law enforcement for 26 years and I think I had bar fights that were less violent than that," Mike Derbyshire told Global News with a laugh.
Derbyshire said he's an animal lover and didn't want to see anything bad happen to the birds. He said he deserved what he got, and admitted he wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
"You see it happen all the time and you just think it wouldn't happen to you and it did," he said. "I probably got a little too close and deserved it."
Derbyshire said the geese and goslings made it across the road safely in the end.
"I'm glad people are laughing about it," he said about the video. "If it makes people laugh and makes people smile, at the end of the day, it's all good."
