At first glance, you might think it’s a chicken — but take a closer look. This bizarre-looking bird is actually a Maltese pigeon, and the internet is having a hard time believing it’s real.
Also known as the Banat Chicken Pigeon, this fancy pigeon breed is known for its unusually long neck and body, making it look eerily similar to an old-fashioned chicken.
Originating in the Banat region (now part of Serbia and Romania), this bird’s unique shape continues to spark curiosity — and confusion. Is it a chicken? A pigeon? Technically, it’s 100% pigeon… but we wouldn’t blame you for doing a double take.
