This Mesmerizing Performance On A Spinning Platform Captures The Essence Of Life
November 11, 2017
This is a beautiful performance called "Celui qui tombe" (Whoever Falls) by French choreographer and acrobat Yoann Bourgeois.
Six people start at the center of a rotating platform, which symbolizes life. For the next 5 minutes the performers are busy running all over the spinning platform until they eventually fall.
"This captures the essence of life, what in my opinion is, what we call balance or equilibrium, and how difficult it is to maintain it," Salvador Nery wrote. "And the duplicity of how you must work and relate with the other to get to that place, but at the same time how you stay by yourself in the end, until you fall."
