While hanging out with friends in Portugal, a teenager managed to capture an extraordinary moment on her phone: a meteor streaking across the night sky.

According to experts, the meteor burned up along its path from southeast Spain to the Atlantic Ocean northwest of Porto. Whatever was left of it fell into the sea.
