Hundreds of people in Portugal witnessed the awe-inspiring passage of the meteor through the earth's atmosphere on Saturday night.

According to experts, the meteor burned up along its path from southeast Spain to the Atlantic Ocean northwest of Porto. Whatever was left of it fell into the sea.
