A man who lost his donkey 5 years ago has discovered him healthy and happy with a herd of wild elk.
It appears he is protecting the herd.
Donkeys are often used as guardians for herds of livestock, such as sheep, goats, and cattle. They have natural protective instincts and are particularly effective at warding off predators like coyotes, wolves, and dogs.
