Kestrel Chicks Are Absolutely Shocked To See Their Sibling Return From The Dead
March 10, 2022
The reactions of these kestrel chicks are going to make your day.
The birds in the box are baby kestrels, a type of bird of prey. The box they're in is a nesting box specifically made for birds of prey.
A jackdaw (a species similar to crows) shows up and drags one of the kestrel chicks out of the box. Generally speaking, jackdaws are more inclined to eat carrion and seeds, but have been observed taking chicks from nests as in this case.
The nest owner says he found the kestrel chick about 4 meters lower on the ground, completely unharmed.
So, he returned it to the box.
