Teacher Goes Viral For Returning To School In Pajamas At 10 PM
April 29, 2025
A dedicated teacher in Eastman, Georgia, is warming hearts across TikTok after sharing why she returned to school late at night—in her pajamas.
Sarah Ashley Winans, a sixth-grade teacher, woke up from a deep sleep with a sudden realization: she forgot to plug in the Chromebook cart her students would need for a state exam the next day. Without hesitation, she jumped out of bed and headed to school at 10:15 p.m. to make it right.
"You're probably going to laugh. I was in bed. I was like dead asleep, and for some reason, I just woke up, and I sat up straight in the bed, and I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I did not plug this Chromebook cart in,'" Winans told TODAY.com.
She later posted the school surveillance footage of her late-night visit with the caption, “Test taking anxiety isn’t just for the kids. Mind you…this was at 10:15 p.m.” The clip quickly went viral, striking a chord with viewers who praised her dedication—and related to the anxiety that comes with wanting everything to go smoothly.

"I don’t really sleep the week of testing," Winans shared. "I want them to be OK, and I want them to feel confident, not to be nervous and worried."
Despite the unexpected internet fame, Winans remains humble. "This is just something we do. Teachers, you make mistakes, and you forget to do things and... you just do what you have to do to make sure your kids are successful," she said. "And I just was doing my job."
