Viral Act Of Kindness Inspires Pajama Donation For Entire School
May 21, 2024
Today's good news story comes from Louisville, Kentucky.
Engelhard Elementary School celebrated a heartwarming milestone this week, as every student received a new pair of pajamas, thanks to the generosity of EJ's PJs and Toys for Tots. This event was inspired by a touching story that went viral months ago involving Larry Farrish Jr., a compassionate bus driver, and a young student named Levi.

The story began on a regular school day when Farrish noticed Levi looking particularly downcast. Upon asking the boy what was troubling him, Levi revealed he didn't have pajamas for the school's designated "pajama day."
Determined to lift Levi's spirits, Farrish completed his morning bus run and then made a special trip to a nearby store. He returned to the school with several pairs of pajamas for Levi, an act of kindness that caught national attention and warmed hearts across the country.

Fast forward to this week, and the ripple effect of Farrish's generosity was on full display. EJ's PJs, an organization founded by Patricia Poggi in Long Island, New York, made a significant journey—traveling nearly 800 miles to Engelhard Elementary. Partnering with Toys for Tots, they brought enough pajamas for all 300 students at the school.
Patricia Poggi, who started EJ's PJs with the mission to provide pajamas to children in need, praised Farrish for embodying the spirit of their cause.
"We want all of Engelhard Elementary School to have pajamas and we don't want any of the kids to ever have the circumstances like little Levi had," Poggi said during the pajama party event.
