The City Of Austin, Texas, Is Meeting Its Goal To House All Homeless Veterans In 2016

In 2015, Austin, Texas Mayor Steve Adler took the challenge of finding homes for an estimated 250 homeless veterans. Adler announced this week that the city will meet its goal.

The mayor's office said their initiative would not have worked without the cooperation from landlords, apartment associations, and the Texas Association of Realtors.

The average cost for a veteran to rent an apartment in this program ranges from $350 - $900. The video below breaks down how the city is covering these costs.
