Took My Toddler Out For A Little Treat At A Local Cafe
By steve • March 6, 2023
Took my toddler out for a little treat at a local cafe.
During our meal a gentleman approached us and complimented how well behaved my child was, and how nice it was to see a parent and child engaging with each other rather than on phones / iPads. He said he was a retired school principal and it warmed his heart. He had a nice chat with my toddler and then left.
It was really lovely to have that feedback. As parents we all know those days can be rollercoasters, so that small recognition and encouragement made my day.
As we went to pay, the cafe advised us this gentleman had already paid for our meal. They handed us a little gingerbread man that he’d also purchased for my child.
I’m not ashamed to say I cried. I wish I could thank him. His kindness meant more than I have words to express
