How Much We Take For Granted

By kathy • August 19, 2021

Today I was lucky to have met a beautiful lady who I just happened to be standing behind at the checkout at our local shops she was in a gopher and was trying to pay for her shopping. Her card kept declining, she was short by 5 dollars.

I heard her apologies to the cashier and she said I will have to put something back. I told the cashier it's ok I will pay it for her. She looked at me and burst into tears.

She waited for me on the outside of the store and we had a conversation. A deep conversation how she had survived a stroke and today had been her first day out by herself, how nervous and scared she had been.

I told her she should feel proud of herself and to keep moving onwards and upwards.

We shared a cuddle as we parted ways. I got in my car and just sat.

How much we take for granted and how circumstances can change in the blink of an eye.

It really doesn’t cost a thing to show some kindness.
