I Moved My Mom And Dad 3,000 Miles To Come Live With Me
By hawaiin • October 8, 2015
I'm from Hawaii, my family have been in Maui since the turn of the 20th century. Dad is deteriorating both physically and mentally, and he's getting too much for my mom to take care of. Me and My wife took our 700 ft sq house in Los Angeles, and added two extra rooms one for them and one for the baby (we're trying). Once the rooms were done, we flew down to Maui, picked up my dad, and brought him to his new home. Left the only house he ever lived in Maui to come to his final home.
This is a photo of them seeing their room for the first time. You do not know the relief I felt when I saw the smile on his face.
