Although it appeared that anything goes, there was actually a set of strict rules for Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner.
The list comes from the autobiography of former Looney Tunes animation director Chuck Jones, Chuck Amuck: The Life and Times of an Animated Cartoonist. Director Amos Posner posted the list of rules on Twitter:
