This tiny Ili Pika was spotted in China for the first time in 20 years. It is one of the rarest and most endangered creatures in the world.
With less than 1,000 animals believed to be left in its natural habitat, the Ili Pika population has declined by almost 70 per cent since its discovery in 1983 by conservationist Li Weidong.

These adorable teddy-bear look-alikes are a distant relative of rabbits, although scientists know very little about them.

"I discovered the species, and I watched as it became endangered," Li (pictured below) told CNN. "If it becomes extinct in front of me, I'll feel so guilty."
