This Little Girl Cheering On Her Paralyzed Father Just Stole Our Hearts
July 11, 2020
Cliff Devries wasn't always paralyzed on the right side of his body, but life took him on a trip he never planned to embark on.
Devries went to the doctor to have what he thought was a simple pinched nerve examined only to learn he had cancer in his spinal cord.
Doctors removed 90 percent of the tumor but due to surgery complications, Devries became paralyzed from the neck down.
As time went on, Devries slowly made progress. After six months of physical therapy, he was finally able to stand up by himself. After one year, he was able to take a few steps. After two years, Devries could walk with a cane.
He is still paralyzed on the right side of his body, but that has not stopped him from pushing the limits.
In this inspirational video, Devries completes a 30-foot dive into a pool. But what has really captured the attention of viewers is his 5-year-old daughter Grace cheering him on in the background.
