She Meant Every Word Of 'In Sickness And In Health'

June 5, 2025

When 37-year-old Logan suffered a sudden and unexpected stroke, his family's world changed in an instant.

But his wife Stacie—who just happens to be a physical therapist—didn’t hesitate to become his fiercest advocate, caregiver, and coach.

In a touching Instagram post, she shared the emotional journey of the past few months:

"These past few months have been the most challenging months of my life. I’ve been less active here because my focus has been on what truly matters: my family. ❤️

When my husband, Logan—a healthy 37-year-old—suffered a stroke out of nowhere, our world turned upside down in an instant. The hardest decision I’ve ever faced came next: to be by my husband’s side or care for our daughter. Thankfully, my mom and grandma stepped in for Oakley so I could pour my heart into helping Logan in ways only I could.

Logan spent over a month intubated, and without access to therapists during that time, it was up to me to step in and do what I could to help…luckily I’m a physical therapist and quickly went to work at his bedside. Using everything I knew—neuro rehab basics, ortho PT principles, and sheer determination—I would help him sometimes for 8+ hours a day during the first month or so to keep his body moving, maintain his strength, and preserve his mobility. When he transitioned to inpatient rehab, I kept helping by bridging the neuro-ortho rehab gap & would help him with strength training, functional exercises, and even BFR to give him every possible edge.

We are just 3.5 months into a recovery that could take a year or more, but Logan is already showing incredible progress and is exceedingly everyone’s expectations — and we’re not slowing down.

His unwavering determination to regain 100% function inspires me daily, and our sweet daughter, Oakley, is the best medicine and motivation!

This journey isn’t easy and it’s long from over, but love, resilience, and faith will keep driving us forward. And I will continue to do whatever it takes to help my husband and my family!

Thank you for your support, prayers, and love as we navigate this journey. Your encouragement means the world to us."

In an update a few months later, Stacie shared another video—one that might just shock you.

Logan, who had once been in a coma, is now doing 155-pound squats at the gym. Just six months after his stroke, he's defying every odd and proving just how powerful perseverance and love can be.

@thephysiofix As I was going through squat videos last night, I saw a video that was completely dark from our time in the hospital….so I clicked on it. It was a 5 min conversation that Logan and I had on October 5th at 2am in the morning (hence why it was completely dark). I honestly didn’t even remember this video..but a lot of things were a blur from back then. So I listened to it. In the video, Logan told me that he wanted to prove the doctors wrong, to get back to squatting 405 (yep, very specific but squats have always been Logan’s favorite lift), take Oakley to the next Olympics (already the plan!), to be an advocate for others going through something similar and he wanted to share his story in hopes it will both inspire & help others (prob why I was filming this conversation). Logan’s never been one for cameras & he’s never been one for social media. But I guess there’s something about having a near death experience that makes you see & do things differently. Ironically enough, over the last few weeks, Logan has already begun to tell his story, and I have also been telling my story, the hoops I jumped through to get Logan the best care, life in the hospital, after returning home, literally everything. We have also been filming exercises to help others with an in home stroke rehab program! Our goal is to one day share all of this with you all! So stay tuned 🥰 & if you’ve been following along from the very beginning, we want to say thank you! Thank you all for sharing your own stories with us and helping Logan and I as we navigate all of this! Your support and advice have been invaluable….& we promise to continue paying it forward ❤️ Please share this with anyone you think needs to see this! 💪🏼 #strokesurvivor #hemorrhagicstroke #intracerebralhemorrhage #ich #strokeofluck #luckylogan #strokerecovery #strokerehab ♬ original sound - Lerion
