'Your Music Woke Me From A Coma': Chris Martin Brings Man On Stage To Sing After Spotting Sign

November 22, 2024

Dylan, a devoted Coldplay fan from Minnesota, experienced the moment of a lifetime during the band’s recent concert in New Zealand.

Armed with a heartfelt sign that read, "Your music woke me up from a coma. Can we sing about this magic together," Dylan caught the attention of lead singer Chris Martin, who invited him on stage to share his incredible story.

Just eight months ago, Dylan's life took a harrowing turn when his heart stopped, causing him to fall and suffer a severe head injury. He slipped into a coma, and for four days, his family faced an agonizing uncertainty. Doctors feared the worst, warning that even if Dylan woke up, he might suffer permanent brain damage.

Desperate to bring him back, Dylan’s family decided to play his favorite music as he rested. That music was Coldplay. On the third day, something miraculous happened—Dylan began playing air piano to one of their songs, the first sign of his return to consciousness.

Dylan credits Coldplay’s music not only with waking him from the coma but also with being a source of solace and strength during challenging times in his life. Reflecting on the surreal experience of meeting Chris Martin on stage, Dylan shared on social media:

"I’m sorry I don’t have more eloquent words at the moment, but I really wanted to give Chris a hug and thank him for literally saving my life. The reason it worked was the years of listening to his music. There were times in my life when I felt alone, and having their music has been my saving grace in other ways as well."
