The ordeal began when Maia's owner, Paula Rodriguez, was in transit on a Delta flight that had a layover in Atlanta. Regrettably, during this layover, Maia mysteriously disappeared, causing deep distress for Rodriguez.

In a desperate attempt to find her beloved pet, Rodriguez took to a Facebook group called "Atlanta Area Lost and Found Pets" on August 18th, where she passionately pleaded for assistance in locating Maia.

On August 21st that she received a message from Delta Airlines revealing that Maia had escaped from her kennel on the airport ramp and that airport personnel were actively searching for her.

Subsequently, Robin Allgood, a dedicated individual with a mission to reunite lost dogs with their owners, took action by distributing flyers throughout the airport premises. Allgood's efforts did not go in vain, as she received a call from an informant who claimed to have sighted Maia. This crucial information led to the successful recovery of the beloved dog on a Saturday.

In the video below, Allgood explains where she found Maia.

"It feels so good, it feels such a relief," Rodriguez said. "I am so happy my hear it full of love."

In a statement from Delta they said they are happy for all of the teamwork that made finding Maia possible.
