LA County Grants Little Girl Permission To Own A Unicorn – If She Can Find One
December 9, 2022
A little girl in Los Angeles got her wish when she asked animal control authorities for a license to own a unicorn.
"This brought us so much JOY so we thought we should share with everyone," a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control wrote in a Facebook post.

Madeline asked if she could keep the unicorn in her backyard if she's able to find one.
"It is always rewarding to hear from young people who thoughtfully consider the requirements of providing a loving home to animals," the animal control agency said.
Their response to Madeline came with a list of conditions.

The unicorn must be given regular access to sunlight, moonbeams, and rainbows, fed watermelon at least once a week, and polished at least once a month.
The agency's director, Marcia Mayeda, signed the official license.

"Also, in the meantime, because they are indeed very rare to find, we will be providing her the unicorn pictured below as she continues her search," the agency added.
