Bullied 3rd grader gets support from all over the world
June 15, 2013
A few weekends ago, Isaiah Myers' father gave his 3rd grade son his annual buzz cut. Isaiah's classmates didn't take to the new shaved look and began tormenting him.
Seeing how upset her son was by the bullying, Isaiah's mother, Becky, went to facebook to raise his spirits. She posted a picture of Isaiah sporting his new hairdo with the caption:
Isaiah was tormented at school today because he got his head shaved. i told him I would put a picture on facebook and see how many likes I could get! I think he looks handsome!! Let's cheer my boy up
The picture now has over 2.2 millions 'likes' and 35,000 shares from people all over the world.
"I had my friends liking it and they were sharing it so their friends would see it. … The picture's been all over the world," Becky Myers said. "I've gotten messages from New Zealand, from England, everywhere."
Isaiah was hesitant to allow his mother to post his picture on Facebook, assuming it would only bring in more ridicule. The support from family, friends, and strangers all over the world has been nothing short of incredible. He has even posted a video on Facebook to thank everyone for their kind words and support.
