Courageous Firefighter Recovering After Suffering Severe Burns To The Face
July 9, 2018
A firefighter is being treated for severe burns at a California Hospital after the flames in Siskiyou County on July 5th consumed the fire engine.

"Brandon was flown to UC Davis ICU Burn Center. He is recovering well, considering the injuries," Feller's girlfriend Maddy Jane Melo wrote on Facebook.

"The medical team has been incredible and amazed by the rate of recovery Brandon is making," she continued.
"Cal Fire has been nothing but amazing and supportive and we are overwhelmed by the brotherhood and support services they have provided.
At time of admission burns were severe and caused swelling of eyelids. We were concerned about his vision, but today he opened his eyes wide!!
He is seeing well in both eyes.
He is up and walking around and in great Spirits.
A lot of his positive mindset comes from the tremendous amount of support from everyone.
Thank you so much for the love and positive thoughts. We are just overwhelmed with joy at the love we are receiving."

During a community meeting in Yreka Saturday night, CAL FIRE confirmed that Brandon's "spirits are high", and says doctors have reported he is doing exceptionally well considering his injuries.
