Hero dog leaps in front of speeding truck to save child's life
November 29, 2012
Geo, a Shepherd-Collie, saved the life of a 10 year-old boy this week in Clacton on Sea, Essex, England.
Carly Riley and her 3 sons were out for a walk with Geo when disaster struck.
An out of control speeding truck was heading right for Carly's son Charlie as it came over the curb of the sidewalk. Geo sensed the danger approaching and hurled himself into Charlie pushing him out of dangers way.
Although Charlie was uninjured in the event, Geo suffered broken bones and internal injuries. Luckily, doctors caring for Geo claim he will in fact make a full recovery.
"Geo must have sensed it as he leapt on Charlie and took him out the way," Carly told iTV news. "It could have wiped us all out. If it wasn't for Geo I am 100% sure it would've been Charlie."
The vet bills for Geo are going to cost the Riley family thousands of dollars, but they are willing to pay any price for his heroic actions which saved their son's life.
