The Dolomites, located in northeastern Italy, are renowned for their dramatic limestone formations, steep cliffs, and deep valleys. This UNESCO World Heritage site offers a stunning backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts. The jagged peaks and rugged terrain create an ideal playground for mountain bikers looking for a challenge.
Italian cyclist Marco Bassot captured his ride with a helmet cam. His footage provides a visceral sense of the danger and excitement that comes with biking these mountains.
"No mistake allowed. My heart on fire. The adrenaline chute is massive. I simply love it," Bassot wrote, perfectly capturing the intensity and exhilaration of the ride.
British professional racing cyclist Gee Atherton also tackled this extreme trail.
"The Dolomites are like no other place on earth," says Dan Griffiths, the photographer for Atherton. "Arriving there, seeing how the mountains tower over you from the valley floor is as intimidating as it is impressive."
