This UNESCO World Heritage site offers a stunning backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts. The jagged peaks and rugged terrain create an ideal playground for mountain bikers looking for a challenge.

Italian cyclist Marco Bassot captured his ride with a helmet cam. His footage provides a visceral sense of the danger and excitement that comes with biking these mountains.

British professional racing cyclist Gee Atherton also tackled this extreme trail.

"The Dolomites are like no other place on earth," says Dan Griffiths, the photographer for Atherton. "Arriving there, seeing how the mountains tower over you from the valley floor is as intimidating as it is impressive."
