I Hugged Her So Tightly
By Leanne • October 8, 2024
This was a few years ago now but wanted to share an remind people that there are still beautiful people in this world.
I was doing my grocery shopping and whilst paying at the till realized I didn’t have enough money as I also needed to purchase petrol for the trip home. While I was putting back the meat and other items I couldn’t afford, explaining this to the teller, a lovely kind lady came over and told the teller to put everything back in my trolley and she would pay the difference. I didn’t understand at first what was happening as I had not heard her speak to the teller.
The teller explained that another shopper had paid for these items and pointed to a lady walking out of the supermarket. I quickly ran after her and sheepishly said “you shouldn’t have” and “it’s ok, I can put them back” but she wouldn’t have it.
She simply replied: “pay it forward one day, when you can”
I hugged her so tightly and thanked her repeatedly. I couldn’t believe someone had been so kind and generous!
I have never forgotten the kindness of this lady and now in better days, have paid it forward many times.
