Lessons Learnt

By Jodi-Ann E.M. Morgan • January 5, 2014

It’s been a while since I’ve felt like writing. I suppose I just haven’t been inspired lately. Perhaps the troubles of life were beginning to feel too much like a millstone around my neck. Whatever the case may be it had me in deep thought... what’s new? :-D. Eventually, I started to change the tune of my mind’s sad song. I remembered hearing that life’s pressures should not be seen as punishment but in fact they are actually preparation for something greater to come. So when pressure hits you, strike back with great force using every fibre of your being. This way you will not only gain confidence but unlock a door to strength you never even knew existed. With this principle in practice anyone of us can make it through anything that comes across our path.

It is important to note however, that we don’t have to go it alone. A popular saying in Africa is, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go FAR, go together.” I concur with this statement wholeheartedly. IF THERE IS ONE THING I LEARNT FROM THE LAST YEAR, IT IS THAT SAYING. We can always strive to establish something good on our own quickly, but with the help of persons such as family and friends, we should be able to make something even better!

In addition to our loved ones, there is someone else who we can count on for help. But in order to reach Him we need to stop looking inward and downward, and start looking outward and upward. God promised He would never leave us nor forsake us, and though at times it may seem like He is not there, He is. We just have to trust that His timing is correct.

Also, just as He takes the time to listen to us we also need to take the time to listen to Him. His infallible Word has told me numerous things, one of which states that I am not alone for He is always near me. What will you hear when you listen?
