Signs Of The Star
By maite dela luz • November 11, 2018
One of my best chilhood memories with siblings was spending many wonderful nights gazing at the sky. We enjoyed the view of the amazing gathering of bright celestial objects above. When everybody's settled and ready, the search for the brightest and biggest star began.
As we looked up towards its horizon, before even we could find the brightest and the biggest, we began noticing patterns among them. It made us believe that there is a universe out there. Someone was perfectly arranging and putting it together. And that was a sign, a sign that there is GOD.
"Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing." ~ Isaiah 40:26
Yes, it was He who created the heavens and who put the stars in their place.
One starry night that I could never forget, I was sitting beside the window, when I saw a shooting star. It was a fascinating sight! They say, dreams come true when you wish upon seeing it falling. I made a wish. In my heart, I believed God was looking down at me at that time and I prayed that He would be receptive to the wish I made.
Many years later, that wish came true when I walked on the stage, wearing my toga and holding my diploma. And from that very moment, I knew it was a sign, a sign of God's great purpose in my life. He has given me mission to give care to others through the healing art and to use me as the extension of His healing power.
Jeremiah 29:11, God says, "For I have good plans for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a bright future".
As I continue my journey to search the meaning of life, these stars continue to brighten my path. God has revealed Himself to me in a place where only few have seen and believed in Him. A place where no single star exists.
And so my search had once again begun.
Little did I know, at the other side of this planet, one restless soul has been also led by these celestial bodies. He was once a wanderer but now rests in God's love and care.
We are two different individuals yet amazingly have the same heart desires. All this time, it is the star that has been guiding us along to finally meet each other. Isn't it interesting that the wise men were also led to Messiah by a star?
Today, is the day that a star has risen in our hearts.
Today, we promise that...
We are going to be heirs together of this gracious gift of life. (I Peter 3:7)
