The American Kennel Club Revealed The Most Popular Dog Names In 2022

The American Kennel Club compiled the top 10 most popular dog names of 2022 for boy dogs and girl dogs from their purebred dog registration and Canine Partner mixed-breed enrollment statistics.

The American Kennel Club says dog names rise and fall in popularity, especially after a hit series or movie.

"The number of dogs named after Frozen characters rose 900 percent the year after that movie came out," the organization said.

"Names from books and television shows like Game of Thrones have maintained popularity over time, and the Disney universe of characters has helped inspire male dog names like Loki, Thor, Kylo, and Simba."

At least 20% of registered dog names are traditional human names. Food and drink names are very popular, too.
