The framed picture titled "Game Changer" has been placed on display in a corridor at Southampton General Hospital in southern England.

The artist left a note for hospital workers that read: "Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if it's only black and white."

Health officials said it was a "massive boost to morale" for everyone at the hospital.

However, one social media user gave an interesting perspective on the artwork.

"The message here is nurses are the fad at this moment but are about to get dumped in the trash and completely ignored as we move onto the next thing. I mean, look at Spiderman and Batman. They were used until they were broken, then their pieces were brushed aside as we devour the next one up."
