Just Because You're A Kid Doesn't Mean You Can't Do Big And Great Things
June 12, 2014
Just because you're a kid, doesn't mean you can't do big and great things.
11 year-old Lily Born invented an un-breakable, un-spillable cup after she noticed her grandfather was spilling his drinks a lot due to his Parkinson's disease.
The three legged Kangaroo Cup is made from BPA-free plastic, is stackable, and its elevated base means "you won't get into trouble for not using a coaster".
Lily's first version of the mug was a ceramic version she molded herself, which she and her father then had manufactured and sold on Kickstarter.
But she got the idea to start making them in plastic after she felt her young cousin was at risk of dropping and smashing one.
And then she did what any other 11-year-old would do and recruited a team of seasoned experts including designers and marketers.
So far, Lily's Kickstarter campaign has raised over $38,000 of its $25,000 goal to manufacture the innovative cup with 26 days left.
