A Restaurant Put A Fridge Outside That The Homeless And Hungry Can Access 24/7
April 1, 2016
A restaurant owner in Kochi, India, noticed there were a lot of homeless people who often walked past her restaurant rummaging through trash cans.
So Minu Pauline, owner of Pappadavada, came up with a brilliant idea: an outdoor refrigerator that the hungry can access 24 hours a day.

On Wednesday, the fridge was opened. It's unlocked 24/7 and anyone can take food from it, no questions asked.

The fridge receives regular donations from restaurant patrons and other people, and Pauline herself leaves around 75-80 portions of food per day.

"Money is yours," she told The Huffington Post. "But resources belong to society. That's the message I want to send out. If you’re wasting your money…you’re wasting society’s resources."
