High School Senior Surprises Classmates At Graduation, Walks For The First Time In Three Years

June 11, 2015

The last time Parker Haller walked without assistance was over three years ago, just before diving head-first into a breaking wave in Ocean City, Maryland. The 15 year-old high school sophomore suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Haller missed an entire year of school recovering.

When he finally returned to C.D. Hylton High School in Dale City, Virginia, Haller attended classes in a wheelchair. His classmates never saw him without it.

At this year's senior graduation, he had a surprise for everyone in attendance. For the first time in three years, Haller stood up from his wheelchair and walked across the stage to accept his diploma.

The reaction from the stadium is priceless.
