Girl Scouts Act Of Kindness Helps Woman Who Lost Home In Fire

February 27, 2015

A woman who lost everything she owns in a house fire is getting help from a group of 4th graders with really big hearts.

Girl Scout Troop 30759 in West Carrollton, Ohio, found out Barbara Dolan had lost her home and knew what they had to do.

"She lost everything," said 10 year-old Alaura Ibaugh. "She lost 75 years of pictures and she lost most her jewelry."

Instead of using the money they raised from selling cookies on a spa day for the troop, they decided to donate the money to help Barbara get back on her feet.

The girls surprised her at family member's home with more than $500.

"For a group of young girls that age, it's hard for them to grasp the concept of what just happened," Bonnie Wright, Dolan's granddaughter, told 2 News. "For them to give up something that meant so much to them for a complete stranger, it's just mind-blowing."

And when Fab Kid Spa Party Boutique heard about the act of kindness, they donated their services to give the girls a well-deserved spa day after all.
