During seven years as a guerrilla hostage, Colombian politician Sigifredo Lopez endured forced marches, abusive guards, and the constant threat of execution.

While in captivity, 11 of the 12 prisoners were killed. Lopez was the only survivor.

He was also told that his two sons were killed.
