Manami Ito, The Miracle One-Armed Violinist

March 17, 2020

A car crash can be life-altering, and in some cases, even life-ending, but one woman refused to give up.

In 2004, Manami Ito was in a horrible car accident and lost her right arm. In the years since the accident, Manami's determination has turned her into the ultimate role model.

Eventually, her hard work paid off and she became a certified nurse. But Manami was truly inspired when she noticed that her fellow amputees were playing sports, like basketball.

She figured that if they could play sports, then so could she. In 2007, she took up swimming, and she made it to 4th place in the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing. Then in 2012, she made it to 8th place in the London Paralympics.

Then Manami started learning how to play the violin. She has continued perfecting her craft over the years, and now travels all over Japan playing the violin.

This is her amazing performance of "Ito" by Miyuki Nakajima.
