This Dog Was So Obese She Couldn't Walk. A Vet Student Saved Her From Being Euthanized
March 8, 2024
Frannie, a 125 pound golden retriever, was saved from being euthanized by Annika Bram, a veterinary student at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
Frannie has a condition called hypothyroidism (low thyroid) which can lead to excessive weight gain even without a substantial increase in food intake but in her case, it was coupled with being fed table scraps by her previous owners. The condition also causes her to have poor skin and a poor coat.
Annika felt the call to save Frannie and decided to document her weight loss journey on Instagram.
Per the last update, Frannie is now 91.6 pounds.
