Every Night, This Mouse Spends Hours Cleaning Up A Man's Shed
January 8, 2024
In the quiet town of Builth Wells in Wales, 75-year-old Rodney Holbrook stumbled upon an unexpected nightly visitor in his shed – a diligent mouse with an unparalleled sense of cleanliness. Little did he know that his ordinary shed would become the setting for a Ratatouille-style scene straight out of a heartwarming animation.
Rodney, who had been regularly perplexed by the mysteriously tidy state of his shed each morning, decided to unravel the mystery behind the impeccable cleanliness. Taking matters into his own hands, he set up a night vision camera on his workbench to capture the elusive cleaner in action.
To his surprise, the footage revealed a diligent mouse meticulously picking up clothes pegs, corks, nuts, and bolts scattered around the shed.
"Ninety-nine times out of 100 the mouse will tidy up throughout the night," Holbrook said. "It is incredible really that they put them all back in the box. I think it's possible that they enjoy it."
This is not the first time we have come across an organised rodent cleaning up a shed.
In 2019, a similar incident occurred in Severn Beach, UK. A retired electrician noticed plastic clips appearing in an old ice cream tub. Questioning his sanity, he emptied the tub each night, scattering the nuts and bolts across his shed, only to discover the mess had been cleaned by the morning. View the story here.
