A Pizza Hut Driver Was In An Accident, So The Responding Officers Completed The Delivery

September 27, 2014

"To protect and serve" has been taken to a whole new level.

Two police officers made a surprise special delivery to a Portland, Oregon home after the original delivery man was injured in a traffic accident.

Officers Michael Filbert and Royce Curtiss of Portland's police force decided to lend the injured delivery man a hand and fulfill the order, much to the surprise of bewildered customers.

Homeowner Steve Huckins said he had to take a picture of the two uniformed men or else no one would believe him.

"They turn around to leave, and I said, 'whoa, whoa, whoa — I got to get a picture of this. No one is going to believe Portland police delivering a pizza.' So that's the picture everyone saw," Huckins told KOIN.

Huckins said he hoped the photo he took would recognize the officers going above and beyond the call of duty.
