Animal Shelter Receives 12,000 Pounds Of Food Thanks To 8-Year-Old's Birthday Wish
July 12, 2018
Adisynn Kiker made sure friends and family knew she did not want anything for herself on her birthday. Instead, she requested food and supplies for animals that do not have a place to call home.

Adisynn's 8th birthday wish was posted on Facebook and it quickly spread throughout her community, prompting dozens of businesses and people to donate more than 12,000 pounds of dog and cat food to the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake in Tool, Texas.

The shelter thanked Adisynn on Facebook and posted a list of everything donated for her birthday, which included:
• 580 pounds of cat litter.
• 11,591 pounds of dog food.
• 152 pounds of cat food.
• 28 cans of cat food.
• 43 gallons of bleach.
• 7 containers of laundry soap.
• 7 containers of Simple Green.
• 60 rolls of paper towels.
"Thank you again for everything!!!! Our fur babies greatly appreciate it," the shelter wrote.
