Teenage hero saves young boy from a kidnapper
April 23, 2013
A 13 year-old girl saved a young boy from what police are calling a would-be kidnapping.
Marisa Martinez was outside playing basketball in her driveway and saw a man approach a young boy and attempt to take him away. The boy tried to push the man off but was not strong enough.
"I was really scared and my instinct was to go and help him," said Martinez.
Martinez ran over as fast as she could to help pull the boy away from the stranger. While grabbing on to the boy she screamed for her mom scaring the man away. He was eventually cornered by police near a local church.
Police determined the man is a registered sex offender. Martinez' bravery makes her a true hero.
